Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Windstorm Coverage & Budget Impact (Interim) was held on Wednesday, August 30, 2006, in the Corpus Christi City Hall Chambers at 1201 Leopard St. Corpus Christi, TX

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:09 a.m.  The following business was transacted:

 

The committee adopted the minutes from the previous hearing (held on Wednesday, June 28 in Galveston, Texas).  The following individuals presented invited testimony as a panel: Beaman Floyd (Texas Coalition for Affordable Insurance), Craig Nadziejka (State Farm Insurance), Jo Betsy Norton (All State Insurance), and Bill McCartney (USAA).  The following individuals provided invited testimony as a second panel: Parker Rush (Republic Lloyds), Greg Vanek (National Lloyds), Bob Shepard (Independent Insurance Agents of Texas), and James Langford (Texas Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co.).  The committee then heard public testimony over all interim charges.

 

At 12:10 p.m. Representative Smithee assumed the chair and at 12:13 p.m. Representative Seaman assumed the chair.  Senator Jackson resumed the chair at 1:10 p.m.

 

There being no further business, at 1:40 p.m. Representative Eiland moved that the committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Co-chairs.  Without objection, it was ordered.
