Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs & Military Installations was held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, in the Betty King Committee Hearing Room, 2E.20, at Austin, Texas.

Senator Eliot Shapleigh, the acting Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The Chair laid out House Concurrent Resolution 16 and recognized the Senate Sponsor, Senator West, to explain the bill.

 

The Chair opened public testimony on HCR 16.
