Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Environmental Flows was held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.028, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:09 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chairman welcomed the committee and members were given the opportunity to make introductory comments.

 

Chairman Averitt moved that the rules be adopted, without objection; it was so ordered.

Kathy Ramirez, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality - Discussed nominations submittal process.

Todd Chenoweth, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality - Discussed history of Environmental Flows.

Bill Mullican, Texas Water Development Board - Explained Texas Water Development Board river basin boundaries.

Barney Austin, Texas Water Development Board - Explained Texas Water Development Board river basin boundaries.

 

The chair opened public testimony.
