Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Education was held on Friday, January 27, 2017, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:07 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The Senate Committee on Education met with the Senate Finance Work Group on School Finance. The chair recognized Senate Finance members not on the Education Committee, but on the Senate Finance Work Group on School Finance; Senator Hancock was present.

 

Senator Perry was present.

 

Senator Birdwell, also on Senate Finance Work Group on School Finance, was present.

 

The chair called invited testimony.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

Senator Van Taylor assumed the chair.

 

Senator Larry Taylor resumed the chair.

 

The chair moved testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 12:34 PM Senator Larry Taylor moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
