Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Friday, August 4, 2017, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 13 in lieu of SB 85 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Campbell, to explain the bill.

 

The bill was left pending.

 

The chair laid out SB 114 and recognized the author, Senator Hinojosa, to explain the bill.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

At 9:03 AM Senator Uresti assumed the chair.

 

At 9:05 AM Senator Schwertner resumed the chair.

 

At 9:50 AM Senator Uresti resumed the chair.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The bill was left pending.

 

There being no further business, at 10:17 AM Senator Uresti moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
