Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on August 20, 2025, and permission granted on August 20, 2025, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Disaster Preparedness & Flooding, Select met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, at 6:23 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives King; Bonnen; Darby; Johnson; Louderback; and Wilson.

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 2.

 

The chair moved that SB 2, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Martinez; Moody; Virdell (3).

 

SB 5

 

The chair laid out SB 5.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

The chair moved that SB 5, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           None (0).
