Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 14, 2025, and permission granted on May 14, 2025, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, at 3:33 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives King; Anchía; Darby; Davis, Yvonne; Geren; Guillen; McQueeney; Metcalf; Phelan; Raymond; Smithee; and Thompson.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

SB 924

 

The chair recalled SB 924 from subcommittee.

 

The chair laid out SB 924.

 

The chair recognized Representative Anchía to explain SB 924.

 

(Representative Hull now present.)

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Anchía moved that SB 924, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives King; Anchía; Darby; Davis, Yvonne; Geren; Guillen; McQueeney; Metcalf; Phelan; Raymond (10).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Hull; Smithee (2).

 

Present, Not Voting:   Representative Thompson (1).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hernandez; Turner (2).

 

 

 

At 3:36 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
