Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

Senator Hinojosa called the meeting to order at 9:06 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Chair made opening remarks.

 The Chair laid out SB 1.

Testimony was heard on SB 1 – Article VI, Natural Resources.  Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

 General Land Office and Veteran’s Land Board

Senator Huffman assumed the chair.

Senator Hinojosa resumed the chair.

Department of Agriculture

At 10:45 AM Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand in recess.

At 1:08 PM the Committee reconvened.

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Railroad Commission

Senator Huffman resumed the chair.

Commission on Environmental Quality

Parks and Wildlife Department

Animal Health Commission

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Soil and Water Conservation Board

Senator Huffman resumed the chair.

Water Development Board

Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Compact Commission 

The Chair closed public testimony.

Senator Huffman moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 6:13 PM Senator Huffman moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
