Text Window

Accessing the Text Window

After you look up a bill, click the Text tab. The bill's Text window displays.

From the Text window, you can:

• Open the selected text in a separate window

• View other fiscal impact statements

• View the Enrolled Bill Summary

• View the House Research Organization report

• View the Governor's Veto Proclamation

Text Window Description

The following describes information in the Text window:

• Version:  Lists the available bill text versions to view.

• Bill:  Click the HTML, PDF, or Word icon to open a separate window that displays the bill text.

NOTE:  The PDF is the official copy and contains line and page numbers.

• Fiscal Note:  Click the HTML or PDF icon to open a separate window that displays the fiscal note as created by the Legislative Budget Board.

• Bill Analysis:  Click the HTML, PDF, or Word icon to open a separate window that displays the corresponding bill analysis.

• Witness List:  Click the HTML icon to open a separate window that displays the witness list as prepared by the committee clerk.

• Summary of Committee Actions:  Click the HTML icon to open a separate window that displays a summary of committee action in the house.

• Enrolled Bill Summary:  If an enrolled summary exists, an Enrolled Bill Summary link displays in the Additional Documents area.  Click the link to open a separate window that displays the enrolled bill summary.

• HRO Bill Analysis:  If an HRO bill analysis exists, an HRO Bill Analysis link displays in the Additional Documents area.  Click the link to open a separate window that displays the HRO.

• Fiscal Impact Statements:  If a fiscal impact statement exists, a Fiscal Impact Statement link and specific impact statement type links display.  Click the corresponding link to display the impact statement information.  

NOTE:  You can view up to nine different impact statements for each version.

• Governor's Veto Proclamation:  If a proclamation exists, a Governor's Veto Proclamation link displays in the Additional Documents area.  Click the link to open a separate window that displays the proclamation.

• Add to Bill List:  Click the link to add the bill to your bill list.

• Add Alert:  Click the link to add the bill to your bill alert list.
